Weekend 12.–14. September: Premier League starts

 TOTAL SCORE 4W – 0L

Intro and recap: Hi ya’ll. Right off the top, check out the “Follow the blog by email” feature on the right, if you want to know when new tips are out, so you can cash in before the games start. We had a great weekend with the international games hitting all the games in the main line. I must apologize for the JOKER as I should have known Lewa was not going to play. This week is the return of the English Premier League. Feels like two weeks ago since the previous season ended, but in these strange times I am happy to welcome the prem back into our lives.

I picked four games for this week as well. Starting things off it is the reigning champions Liverpool taking on the promoted Leeds United. I have a hunch that this is going to be a bit of an off season for Liverpool. They have now won the Premier League and Champions League practically with the same squad, so I think the hunger is not going to be there for this season. The players are still very good I think they will definitely be in the top 5 or 6, but I see the hunger being much stronger for other top teams. As for this game Leeds plays a hard-pressing exhausting style and I think that is going to lead to goals. Therefore, this game I see Liverpool winning, but Leeds will manage to squeeze in a goal.

I usually would predict Newcastle to beat West Ham, but since the restart West Ham was in a good flow and they are continuing with same squad, so I see the good feeling continuing in the early season. Newcastle was in a bit of a mixed state when it seemed that the ownership was going to change, but in the end it did not. They brought in good players, but I think it will take a moment for them to show their impact, so based on the momentum, I see West Ham winning the game.

WBA – Leicester I simply believe Leicester is just too much quality for West Brom to handle. Leicester’s season post restart was bad, but that was mainly due to injuries. New season and with everyone fit they should be able to take down the new boys. I put the draw in just incase Vardy and Leicester boys are firing blanks.

Final game with Sheffield and Wolves, my reasoning for going with Sheffield is they have had a good home form since the restart. On top of this, Wolves played a tiring season with an immense amount of games, so my guess is that they will try to rest their key players for the first couples of games. Also, Sheffield beat Wolves home last season.

6.10

As a JOKER I chose my beloved Arsenal to lose the opening game. There is a lot of positivity around Arsenal and especially against the bigger teams the games have gone well, but against the smaller more defensive opponents the games have been hard, especially on the road. Because of this and the promotion hype that Fulham will be feeling, I see a worthy chance to try that beefy 6.10 odds on Fulham.
