International Week: Euro 2020 Qualifiers

 TOTAL SCORE 11W –9L

Intro and recap: yeah, Premier league seems to be bringing out all the salsa and pinatas with all the fiestas going on - I mean Aston Villa beat Liverpool 7-2. Hopefully, the return of international games can turn out recent luck. There is going to be a lot of games this week and over the weekend, so I will be looking to get two posts out for the international games.

For this first post I wanted to focus on the Euro 2020 qualifiers as they are the games that decide the final teams to the European championship next summer. I am intending to attend some games if the situation with corona allows that to happen. These games are two legged, with both of the teams playing one game at home, but I think there is enough games to make a line of bets.

First game I chose is Bosnia and Herzegovina – Northern Ireland. Bosnia was in the same group as Finland in the qualifiers and their results swinged a lot. Talentwise this should be easy for Bosnia, but they do seem to fall flat on their face from time to time. Even with that I think Northern Ireland is just too weak with their current team to contest, so I feel a strong home victory for Bosnia. N-Ireland can try to get something in their home game, but away I see no chance.

Next up is North Macedonia – Kosovo. This game simply goes down to form: North Macedonia have won their last two home games that were against Israel and Armenia, and I see them being the same level as Kosovo. On top of this Kosovo have had some really bad results in their past games with 4 losses and a draw from their last 5 games.

Bulgaria – Hungary is the next game; both of the teams are ok, and I think the game will be fairly even. However, I am putting my money on Hungary as they have picked up more victories in their recent history and, in my understanding, this is a rather weak Bulgaria team.

Last game I chose is Norway – Serbia. This is probably the most exciting series out of the qualifiers, with the young prolific players of Norway in HÃ¥land and Odegaard. Serbia has always been a solid team and I still might see them as favorites in this matchup. Despite this, I see the safest bet to go in with is for both teams to score. Norway has scored in all of their last 10 games and Serbia has scored in 8 of their last 10, so I see the odds of 1.91 being really good value on our money.

Weekend 3.–4. October: Before the international break

TOTAL SCORE 9W – 5L

Intro and recap: Last round kinda did us dirty, with Wolves being absolute garbage against West Ham and Dortmund being Dortmund. This weekend I have my eye on my traditional Premier League teams. Instead of a JOKER pick this week I made a second line containing some bigger chances. Let’s get bettin friends.

Starting off on Saturday the spunky new boys of Leeds take on the Dominant big men of Man City. City got smacked by Leicester last weekend and they gonna be looking for retribution. So, I am pretty confident that City are winning the game, but to look for extra odds I added Both of the teams to score as Leeds have scored in all their games this season and with the mistakes raining from City defense they will be able to strike at least once.

For the main line, Sunday starts with Leicester – West Ham. West Ham did surprise us last week and I give them credit that they have managed to be competitive at home and that is good for them. However, I think Leicester away is too much to ask for them. Second game on Sunday is Soton against WBA. WBA was close to surprise Chelsea last week but failed to keep their game together for the 90 minutes, which currently seems to be their biggest challenge. Soton on the other hand have played fairly well, but the results have seemed hard to come by until last weekend when they beat Burnley. It could be possible to look for better odds with a draw, but I really think WBA is just on a lower level in every department compared to Soton, so Soton for the W.

I decided to draft a second line of bets with two games that I considered putting as JOKER’s. Probably the most interesting game of the weekend is Man U – Tottenham on Sunday. Result wise, both the teams have done ok to start the season, but the gameplay on the pitch has been less stellar than expected from these two big teams. I see this game as a coin flip and with the relatively good odds 1.92 to cover Tottenham’s victory along with a draw, I am willing to try the flip.

Second game we are looking at Chelsea - Crystal Palace. Chelsea has been struggling, even with their huge amount of spending, their defense is still very shaky. Palace on the other hand have started the season well, playing that classic, kinda boring, Roy Hodgson football. Pressure is on Chelsea to improve and Palace are more than happy to let Chelsea stress out and hit back on the counter attacks. I took the draw option here too to just cover up the mistakes from last weekend’s overly risky JOKER’s.
